If your screen is flickering or appears blurry, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
Step 1: Check Cable Connections
Ensure all video cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, etc.) are securely connected.
If using an external monitor, try a different cable or port.
Step 2: Adjust Screen Resolution and Refresh Rate
Windows:
Right-click the desktop and select Display Settings.
Scroll to Display resolution and set it to the recommended setting.
Click Advanced display settings and adjust the refresh rate to at least 60Hz.
Mac:
Go to System Preferences > Displays.
Set the resolution to Default for Display or adjust manually.
If using an external monitor, check its refresh rate.
Step 3: Update Graphics Drivers
Windows:
Open Device Manager (
Win + X > Device Manager
).Expand Display Adapters, right-click your GPU, and select Update Driver.
Mac:
Ensure macOS is up to date, as driver updates are included in system updates.
Step 4: Disable Hardware Acceleration
In some cases, hardware acceleration can cause flickering issues:
In Google Chrome: Go to Settings > Advanced > System, and toggle off Use hardware acceleration when available.
In Windows: Open Graphics Settings, select the affected application, and toggle off hardware acceleration.
Step 5: Check for Interference or Overheating
If using a laptop, ensure it is not overheating.
Avoid placing electronic devices near your monitor, as electromagnetic interference can cause display issues.
Step 6: Test with a Different Monitor
Connect your computer to another monitor to determine if the issue is with the display or the computer.
If the second monitor works fine, your original screen may need replacement.
Step 7: Scan for Malware
Run a full security scan to ensure malware isn’t affecting system performance.
